Sai Kumar Bhogadi is the founder of “Karshak Seva”. He is one of the young entrepreneurs in India. At the age of 22 he started a company and developed government projects. After four years he wanted to do something for the farmers, then he started doing research on Indian agriculture and gathered a lot of information about Indian agriculture.

He initially chose the Nizamabad TURMERIC farmers Issue which is also national issue and started it as a “Pilot” Project

The “Pilot” project he recruited 25 members for implementing activities and actions and the project has been tested in the field and is widely accepted by the farmers.

First Move

Initially the team researched on turmeric marketing and farming in India

A team of members held meetings in Nizamabad daily to address the problems and needs of the farmers

The team covered all the villages and zones in Nizamabad district

After survey the team found three major problems for turmeric farmers:-

Marketing
Processing of turmeric
Lack of Labor

For above problems “Karshak Seva” found below solutions.

Marketing:- For marketing we have conducted a meeting buyers and sellers meet in Nizamabad
Processing of turmeric:- At present they are boiled in the traditional way, such as burning the trees to process turmeric. We have found a diesel boiling machine for this problem and we got great response from
Lack of Labor :- For this problem we have found one solution, Team has providing guidelines for mechanism way of farming in this way farmer can avoid labor problem

Mission

“Karshak Seva” want to create dependency on “Karshak Seva Platform” for farmers as well as buyer and the maximum farmer related activities and transactions in the future should be done by the “Karshak Seva”. Similarly, we have an action plan to create such a platform.

“Karshak Seva” wants to make farming unorganized sector in to organized sector.

Our Aim is we want to make direct bridge between seller’s and buyer’s.
We want to reduce the cost structure of farming.
We will improve agriculture technology as efficiently as farmers in developed countries.
